What We Are Looking For...
We have an opportunity for an experienced Change & Training Manager to join our team based in Mascot. This is a fixed term role on a 6-month contract.
You will work within a dynamic and successful team with the support of a strong management structure. You will be responsible for leading the people side of change during the implementation of a new rostering, award interpretation, and payroll solution. The role ensures that payroll teams, rostering teams, frontline staff, line managers, and HR adopt the new system effectively, understand changes to their day-to-day work, and have the skills and confidence to operate within the new processes.
Playing a hands-on role you will work cross functionally bridging; technical delivery with business readiness, driving stakeholder engagement, communication, training, and adoption across all stations.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
Change Management
- Conduct change impact assessments for payroll staff, rostering/planning teams, frontline operational staff, line managers, HR, and IT support, identifying how their work will change (e.g., manual spreadsheets → system automation, paper timesheets → mobile app).
- Develop and maintain a change roadmap, aligned with the project timeline (design, testing, cutover, hypercare)
- Proactively manage resistance (e.g., pay disputes, EBA misunderstandings, new device adoption) through targeted interventions.
- Track organisational readiness and adoption through surveys, training completion, and feedback loops.
- Maintain a risk log for change-related risks (resistance, union concerns, training gaps).
Stakeholder Engagement & Communications
- Build a stakeholder engagement plan covering payroll, rostering, HR/P&C, frontline staff, unions, IT, and leadership.
- Provide leaders with talking points, FAQs, and briefing packs to support consistent messaging across the business.
Create and deliver tailored communications explaining "what's changing for me" for each group:
Payroll → From calculators to exception validators.
- Rostering → From manual builders to optimisers.
- Managers → From manual approvals to system dashboards.
- HR → From EBA interpreters to compliance analysts.
Training & Capability Development
- Conduct training needs analysis to define role-based learning paths:
- Payroll staff – interpreting award-calculated outputs, exception handling.
- Rostering teams – scenario modelling, cost forecasting, compliance monitoring.
- Frontline staff – using mobile apps for rosters, clock-in/out, shift swaps.
- Managers – approving leave, overtime, monitoring team compliance.
- HR – reporting, workforce planning, compliance dashboards.
- Design and deliver training materials (eLearning, job aids, classroom sessions, superuser packs).
- Implement a superuser/train-the-trainer model to sustain capability across multiple stations.
- Ensure coverage for 24/7 operations, offering flexible training formats.
Adoption & Post-Go-Live Support
- Coordinate hypercare activities (helpdesk, floor-walking, support clinics) to resolve early adoption issues.
- Establish feedback channels for staff to report issues with rostering, payroll accuracy, or mobile app usability.
- Develop a sustainment plan for ongoing refresher training, future EBA changes, and new hires.
CRITERIA
- Proven experience in change management and training delivery for large-scale system implementations (ideally HR, payroll, or workforce management).
- Strong knowledge of EBA/award interpretation, payroll cycles, and rostering processes in a unionised, shift-based workforce.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills across diverse employee groups.
- Ability to design and deliver training for a 24/7 workforce (frontline, managers, back-office staff).
- Familiarity with ADKAR, Prosci, or similar change management frameworks.
- Experience in aviation, ground handling, logistics, or similar environments (desirable).
If you are looking for a highly rewarding career in aviation services, you're looking for dnata.
