We are looking for a dedicated and dynamicSales Assistantto join the team based inCoomeraon afull-timebasis.

You will report to the Marine & Protective Coatings Sales Manager and join the paint department team in this dynamic store. While previous paint or boat knowledge is desirable, it is not essential as full product training will be provided on the job. We're looking for someone who is willing to learn and be passionate about high levels of customer service to trade and retail customers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding customer service and establish relationships with our customers.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Manager, and our other team members to improve sales potential within the store.
  • Tinting and mixing paint, palletising paint drums, arranging orders for delivery, and colour-matching.
  • Deliveries using the Store vehicle (where applicable).
  • Merchandise and replenish stock promptly and ensure it is presented well.
  • Store housekeeping and following the store's safety standards.
  • Manual Handling - up to 32 kgs. Ability to recognise a 2 person lift

Requirements

  • Previous retail assistant experience with the desire to provide excellent customer service to our growing customer base. You won't be afraid to be hands-on daily in the store.
  • Keen to learn new skills and have an invested interest in building your expertise on our products.
  • You will be comfortable with manual handling as part of your normal day. For example - lifting heavy paint tins (up to 32 kgs), pushing and pulling trolleys, using pallet jacks, standing for long periods, kneeling, loading the Ute for paint deliveries, and doing the delivery and unloading on the other side.
  • Paint experience is not essential, training will be provided.
  • Must be available every second Saturday Morning 7am till 12. The bonus is every other week, knock off at 12 pm on a Friday & enjoy 2 1/2 days off
  • An Australian Drivers License is required & must be maintained.

Renumeration:

Renumeration will be based on experience. We also offer a staff discount structure.

Important:

We are not interested in sponsoring overseas candidates looking for sponsorship and are we are not looking for a short term hire on a working holiday visa. This role will offer intense sales & practical training so we are looking for a long term commitment. Please do not apply if you do not have right's to work in Australia or if you are looking for 3 days week while you are studying at Uni. This is a career role & the skillsets learnt will set you up to work in any chandlery or paint shop in Australia with valuable skills you cannot learn in a normal retail sales role.
