About Abyss
At Abyss, we're on a mission to transform asset integrity management for industrial operations through intelligent, user-centric digital products. Our platform empowers clients to manage complex inspection data, prioritize maintenance, and extend asset life—all with confidence and clarity.
About The Role
As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Creative technology specialist with experience in Business Administration and internal Operations management who can help shape the direction of our products and company.
We're looking for a passionate and experienced Mid-Level DevOps Engineer to join our growing team You'll be a key player in designing, building, and maintaining the scalable, resilient, and secure infrastructure that powers our applications. If you love automating everything, have a deep understanding of cloud technologies, and enjoy collaborating with development teams to ship code faster and more reliably, this is the role for you.
What You'll Do
- Build and Manage Cloud Infrastructure: Design, provision, and manage our multi-cloud infrastructure across AWS, GCP, and Azure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, primarily with Terraform.
- Orchestrate and Containerize: Develop and maintain our Kubernetes clusters, managing containerized applications (Docker) from development to production.
- Automate Everything: Own and improve our CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid, safe, and automated deployments. You'll be scripting in languages like Python and Bash to eliminate manual processes.
- Ensure System Reliability: Manage and scale our production web environments, ensuring high availability and performance. You'll troubleshoot complex issues across the stack, from networking to application level.
- Monitor and Observe: Implement and manage our monitoring, logging, and alerting stack using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki to provide deep visibility into system health.
- Collaborate and Innovate: Work closely with software engineers to optimize application performance and reliability. You'll manage source code and branching strategies using Git/GitHub and champion DevOps best practices throughout the engineering organization.
- Configure and Secure: Utilize Configuration Management tools (we love SaltStack) to ensure our Linux-based systems are consistently configured, patched, and secure.
What You'll Bring
- Extensive Cloud Experience: 4+ years of hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure), with a strong desire to work in a multi-cloud environment.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Expertise: Proven experience building and managing infrastructure with Terraform in a production setting.
- Kubernetes and Containers: Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture and operations, along with extensive experience using Docker and other containerisation technologies.
- CI/CD Pipeline Mastery: A solid track record of building, maintaining, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
- Strong Scripting Skills: Proficiency in a scripting language such as Python or Bash is essential.
- Production Experience: You've managed and supported high-traffic production web environments and know what it takes to keep them running smoothly.
- Solid Fundamentals: A strong grasp of Linux administration, networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPCs, firewalls), and version control with Git.
- Monitoring and Logging Chops: Experience with modern observability stacks like Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki.
- Configuration Management Knowledge: Experience with tools like Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or ideally, SaltStack.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary and benefits package.
- A flexible and collaborative work environment.
- Opportunities for professional growth and learning.
- A chance to work with cutting-edge technology and solve challenging problems.
- A culture that values innovation, automation, and teamwork.
