Introduction:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of food preparation and cooking techniques, along with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

The employer is Ayers House Weddings & Catering, a reputable venue known for delivering exceptional dining experiences for weddings, events, and corporate functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and menu specifications
  • Ensure food quality and presentation meet high standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and cooking equipment
  • Assist in the planning and execution of menus and special events
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
  • Follow food safety and sanitation procedures in compliance with regulations
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service
  • Assist with training and supervising junior kitchen staff when required

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant, catering service, or similar setting
  • Knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, equipment, and food safety procedures
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and a passion for quality food
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle heavy lifting
