About VRH:
Our hospital is a true multidisciplinary centre, home to specialists in radiology, critical care, anaesthesia, neurology, surgery, and internal medicine. As a tertiary referral centre, we're renowned for tackling the weird and wonderful cases that challenge clinical norms and keep you diving into the literature for answers. There is the capacity for teaching and mentoring as our hospital employs both rotating and fixed specialty interns.
Our hospital is equipped with an exceptional range of diagnostic and treatment tools to support your work as a Veterinary Oncologist. You'll have access to a dedicated chemotherapy room featuring a Safemate Cyto 1.2 hood and an Equashield Closed System Transfer Device (CSTD) to ensure safe handling of cytotoxic drugs. We also provide a VetJet injector for administering the ONCEPT Canine Melanoma Vaccine. Advanced imaging capabilities include on-site CT, MRI, fluoroscopy, digital radiography, and comprehensive endoscopy and ultrasound equipment. As part of a multi-specialist team, you'll also benefit from a strong referral base and collaborative case-sharing across departments.
About the Role
We are seeking a Fellow of the ANZCVS, Diplomate of the ACVIM/ECVIM, or board-eligible oncologist to join our growing team.
In this role, you'll:
- Build and lead the oncology service in a collaborative, well-equipped, and supportive hospital.
- Manage a varied caseload including referrals from our internal services and external veterinarians.
- Contribute to hospital-wide rounds, case discussions, and educational events.
- Participate in the mentoring of interns, with the opportunity to shape the next generation of specialists.

Looking to relocate?
Melbourne is a vibrant city on the south-east coast of Australia. It is the culture capital of Australia and a fabulous place to live and use as a base to explore the rest of the country. The food, wine and coffee are the best Australia has to offer and there is a vast array of festivals, exhibitions and sporting events to attend throughout the year. It is a port city with beautiful beaches extending around the bay and temperate rainforests and wineries less than a one-hour drive away. Melbourne has a similar latitude to Seville, Athens and San Francisco- so we have the perfect balance of four seasons without ever getting too cold or hot.
