Our company Everllence Australia (formerly known as MAN Energy Solutions Australia) is in search of an experienced and energetic Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our workshop PrimeServ Marine & Power team and carry out the following tasks:

  • Overhauling large industrial 4-stroke diesel engines and associated equipment.
  • Preparing drawings, plans and designs for mechanical engineering work under the direction of Technical Support Engineer, Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists.
  • Assisting Technical Support Engineer, Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists in the design of mechanical equipment and plant.
  • Selecting tools and equipment.
  • Assembling and installing new and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls, and hydraulic power systems.
  • Estimating material costs and quantities, and machine requirements.
  • Performing and directing field and laboratory tests.
  • Collecting and analysing data, carrying out complex computations and preparing diagrams.
  • Organising and supervising inspection and maintenance of machines and plant.
  • Ensuring designs and finished work are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions.
  • Ongoing communication and collaboration with Technical Service Engineer and Leading Hand to ensure they are kept informed/updated about day-to-day activities, service and maintenance including any delays and obstacles.
  • Actively participating in daily Pre-Start Meetings and Tool Box Meetings.
  • Completing in a timely manner and signing off on all reports including detailed reports on work/service carried out, timesheets, expense claims.

Selection Criteria:

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree or Trades Certificate in Heavy Diesel Mechanic, Mechanical Engineering Fitting and similar.
  • Hands-on experience in same/similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with large industrial 4-stroke engines and equipment
  • Fluent with MS Office applications and report writing
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Australian drivers licence
  • Ability to travel
  • Australian citizen and/or Permanent Residency visa holders highly desirable
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment medical assessment and background check (paid by the company)
