The Role

Vitrinite is currently seeking a safety-focused and experienced Tyre Fitter to join our high-performing team at the Vulcan Mine Complex, located in Queensland's Bowen Basin.

As part of a close-knit and supportive team environment, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety and efficiency of our operations. Reporting directly to the Ancillary Plant Superintendent, you will be responsible for both planned and reactive tyre fitting across a wide range of mobile equipment, including haul trucks, loaders, graders, and various auxiliary machinery essential to our daily operations.

Roster:

The position is offered on a 7/7 roster, dayshift, DIDO or based in Dysart, Central QLD.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Remove, repair, and refit rims and tyres on heavy earthmoving mining equipment.
• Perform regular tyre pressure checks and adjustments.
• Access and use technical manuals, bulletins, and digital systems for guidance.
• Identify, report, and resolve equipment non-conformance and quality issues.
• Record and manage tyre data for monitoring and tracking purposes.
• Maintain and manage onsite tyre bay facilities.
• Ensure compliance with site procedures and safety standards.
• Conduct daily inspections and maintain good housekeeping in work areas.
• Work independently and collaboratively within the maintenance team.

About the Candidate

We are looking for a proactive, self-motivated professional with the following qualifications;

• Cert II in Automotive Tyre Servicing Technology
• AURKTJ012 – Remove, inspect and fit earthmoving/off-the-road wheel and rim assemblies
• AURKTJ011 – Remove, inspect and fit earthmoving/off-the-road tyres
• Solid tyre fitting experience (OTR experience highly regarded)
• C-Class Driver's Licence (HR/MR highly regarded)

The following will be highly regarded:

• Current Standard 11 and Coal Board Medical

Other Requirements

Successful candidates:

• May be required to complete background screening which may include a criminal check and validation of qualifications.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening.
