About the role

Gaffmech Service & Repairs pty ltd is seeking a highly skilled HD Fitter to join our team in Perth WA, working on a 2/1 roster field service out of our new work utes.

What you'll be doing

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair a wide range of heavy equipment, including earth moving machinery, trucks, and other mining-related vehicles
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and servicing on equipment to prevent breakdowns and maximise asset uptime
  • Collaborate with the wider team to identify and implement process improvements
  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation of all maintenance and repair activities

What we're looking for

  • Relevant trade qualification in heavy equipment mechanics or a similar field
  • Extensive experience working as a HD Fitter ideally within the mining, resources or heavy industry sectors
  • Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to diagnose and repair a wide variety of heavy equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and customers
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards
  • Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience with CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi, Volvo equipment preferred
  • Full Australian working rights required
