The Children's Intensive Care Research Program (ChIRP), at the Child Health Research Centre, is committed to leading collaborative, high-impact clinical research that makes a difference in the lives of critically ill children and their families.
As the Principal Research Coordinator, you will lead the coordination and implementation of multi-centre clinical trials and other research projects. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside an internationally recognised, multidisciplinary team in a vibrant and purpose-driven research environment. Based at the Centre for Children's Health Research in South Brisbane—adjacent to the Queensland Children's Hospital—you will play a key role in delivering world-class paediatric research.
Key responsibilities will include:

Lead the coordination and governance of multi-site clinical trials, including ethics and regulatory submissions, study protocols, and operational documentation.

Manage research milestones and deliverables, ensuring studies are delivered on time and in compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and relevant ethical standards.

Oversee study monitoring activities and contribute to data integrity and reporting, ensuring research outputs are accurate, high-quality, and aligned with study objectives and regulatory requirements.

Engage and communicate with stakeholders, including clinicians, investigators, funding bodies, and collaborators, to ensure project alignment and success.

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant health, clinical, or science discipline, with a minimum of 3 years' experience coordinating clinical trials and/or research studies; postgraduate qualifications in clinical trials, health research, or a related field will be highly regarded.

Proven ability to manage complex research studies, including multi-centre and/or adaptive trial designs.

Comprehensive knowledge of clinical trial guidelines and research governance requirements, including Good Clinical Practice (GCP), the National Statement, and ethics/governance processes.

Demonstrated experience preparing ethics submissions, study protocols, and regulatory documentation for hospital and academic settings.

Proficiency in data management and use of electronic data capture systems such as REDCap.

An understanding of the Australian health-research funding landscape and hospital-based research operations will be advantageous.
