About Us
The Coolum Beach Surf Lifesaving Club has proudly protected our beaches and supported our coastal community for over 100 years. We are a not-for-profit organisation devoted to surf lifesaving, water safety education, and fostering a sense of camaraderie amongst our members, volunteers, and the local community. Our club is a hub of activity year-round, with patrols, training, events, and community outreach programs that make a real impact.
About the Role
As our Receptionist & Administration Manager Assistant, you'll be the welcoming face of the club. You will work closely with the Administration Manager to support the operational, administrative, and member services functions of the club.
It's a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same — perfect for someone who enjoys variety and thrives on being organised.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for members, volunteers, parents, and the public, both in person and via email or phone
- Answer incoming calls and emails, providing accurate information within your scope and directing all other enquiries to the appropriate staff member
- Support the Administration Manager with day-to-day administrative tasks, correspondence, scheduling, and document management
- Maintain and update member records, databases, and registers with accuracy and confidentiality
- Support the development and delivery of communications
- Maintain reception and office areas to a high standard
- General filing, document preparation, and record keeping
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment aligned with the values of Surf Lifesaving Australia
About You
We're looking for a motivated individual who is enthusiastic, well-presented, and committed to excellent customer service. You'll need to be adaptable, able to manage multiple priorities, and happy to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional manner.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities, with keen attention to detail.
- Effective time management and organisational skills
- Confidence in using Microsoft Office and learning new systems
- High attention to detail and accuracy in data management
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- An understanding of Surf Life Saving in general is highly desirable
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing demands.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to represent the club's values professionally.
Desirable (But Not Essential)
- Previous experience in a reception, administration, or customer service role.
- Knowledge of or interest in surf lifesaving, water sports, or community organisations.
- Experience with website management, social media, and event promotion.
- Familiarity with member management software or database systems.
