About Us

Kids Patrol Oakey is a warm, family-focused early childhood service committed to providing high-quality education and care. We believe nutritious food is essential to children's wellbeing, learning and development. We are now seeking a passionate, reliable and organised Cook to join our team and help us provide healthy meals for our children aged 0–5 years.


About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Cook who can plan and prepare fresh, nutritious meals in alignment with dietary needs, allergies, cultural requirements and the Australian Dietary Guidelines.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and snacks for children aged 0–5
  • Creating seasonal menus aligned with nutrition guidelines
  • Catering for allergies, intolerances, family preferences and cultural requirements
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen environment
  • Completing daily temperature logs and food safety documentation
  • Ordering and managing stock within budget
  • Working collaboratively with centre management and educators
  • Following all QLD Health, Food Safety Standards and service policies

About You

We're looking for someone who is passionate about children's nutrition and maintaining a high standard of food safety.

You will ideally have:

Certificate in Food Safety / Food Handling

Experience working in a childcare or commercial kitchen

Strong understanding of dietary needs and allergy management

Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently

Warm, positive and child-friendly approach

Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)

Full Australian working rights
