The Vital Health & Wellbeing Centre is a well-established allied health service supporting people of all ages to achieve optimum health and wellness in their lives, with a particular focus on psycho-social wellbeing. Founded in 2014 and initially providing services in southern Sydney, we have since expanded Australia-wide through our telehealth service. Our purpose is to provide a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment where people can engage with their support networks, with services that are person-centred and evidence-based. We offer neuro-affirming support and culturally safe services, delivered by highly qualified, experienced and compassionate practitioners.

About the opportunity:

We are seeking a suitably qualified Occupational Therapist to join our team via a sub-contracting arrangement. On offer is:

• A referral pipeline and opportunity for cross-referral
• Work with a broad range of clientele addressing a range of presentations
• Administrative support, including billing and appointment bookings
• Telehealth facilities via a user-friendly practice management system.
• Very flexible working arrangements with ability to set your availability and hours of work
• Work from home and visit clients in their own homes
• Inclusion in company promotional activities

The successful candidate will work in the community, conducting assessments, creating and implementing a systematic treatment plan to address client needs; prescribe appropriate mobility/adaptive aids; conduct reviews.

Experience or specialty in a specific area such as pediatrics, early intervention, disability or aged care is welcome and we are open to exploring how the practice can work collaboratively with you to develop one of these areas further.

Essential criteria:

• Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and demonstrated experience working in a hospital, community or private practice
• A commitment to evidence-based practice and excellence in service delivery with experience or an interest in working with people with disabilities, people with chronic health conditions, and/or people who are neurodivergent.
• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, empathetic approach, neuro-affirming, with an ability to self-reflect

• Registration with AHPRA and relevant industry association/s
• Eligible to apply for Medicare provider number
• Current professional indemnity insurance or willingness to obtain
• Appropriate checks such as Criminal Record Check, NDIS Worker Check, Working with Children Check.
• Good computer skills using Google applications, Microsoft suite, practice management system and tele-health platforms
• Well-developed documentation skills collated in a timely manner
• Desktop or laptop computer with internet connection
• Driver's license and access to vehicle

Desirable criteria:

• Knowledge and understanding of NDIS
