About the role
As a Disability Support Worker at Caring Care, you will play a vital role in providing personalised and compassionate care to individuals with diverse needs. This casual position is based in Port Macquarie NSW 2444 and focuses on supporting adults with disabilities to live independently and participate actively within their communities.
What You'll Be Getting Up To:
- Helping our clients live their best lives—whether that's getting out and about in the community, tackling everyday tasks, or just offering a friendly face and a bit of encouragement.
- Supporting amazing humans with physical or intellectual disabilities in a way that's respectful, empowering, and tailored to their unique needs.
- Providing care across a wide spectrum—from low-level support to complex needs—and staying calm, kind, and capable when things get a little tricky.
- Getting hands-on with everyday tasks like cleaning, cooking, and shopping—because a tidy space and a good meal go a long way.
- Lending a hand with medication when required and keeping a close eye on health and wellbeing.
- Guiding clients (and their families) to build confidence and independence in daily routines.
- Keeping the admin side of things running smoothly—yes, there's some paperwork, but we keep it purposeful.
- Teaming up with others to review support plans and make sure we're hitting the mark in helping our clients thrive.
- Championing independence and wellbeing in everything you do—big or small, it all makes a difference.
- Working alongside clients and their families, following clear guidelines, but always with heart and flexibility.
What we're looking for
- A genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities and a commitment to empowering them to live with independence and dignity
- Relevant experience in a similar role or within the Aged & Disability Support industry
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to overcome challenges
- A current First Aid certificate and/or willingness to obtain one
- A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- NDIS check, Working With Children's Check, Police Check
