Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cyber Security Engineer to join the Tilt Renewables Technology team. The Cyber Security Engineer will support the Cyber Security Manager in day-to-day tasks toward safeguarding our energy assets and protecting critical data.
The role has a strong focus on the Microsoft suite of products and includes incident response, security analyst activities, and working with IT and Operational Technology (OT) teams to deliver secure solutions. An understanding of networking (such as TCP/IP and Firewalls) and experience working with OT environments is highly desired.
Key Accountabilities:
Key accountabilities may include (but are not limited to):
Support Cyber Security Manager:
- Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of security strategies, protocols and incident response plans.
- Support the Cyber Security Manager in overseeing physical and cybersecurity measures to protect infrastructure and data.
Security Engineering:
- Implement and manage security features within the Microsoft suite of products (Microsoft 365; Entra ID; Intune; SharePoint; Purview; MS Windows) and Azure to ensure the protection of data and the secure management of identities and access.
- Design and implement security features within cloud & vendor technology solutions and in-house systems.
Security Advisor:
- Work with Technology teams to design and implement secure architectures and secure defaults.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the security of critical energy infrastructure and operations.
Incident Response and Security Analysis:
- Monitor security systems, analyse events, assist in investigations, and respond to incidents when necessary.
- Identify and mitigate security misconfigurations, threats and vulnerabilities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of security operations, vulnerability management and incident response capabilities.
Networking and OT Environments:
- Apply knowledge of networking (TCP/IP; Firewalls; VPN; SD-WAN) to enhance security measures.
- Review and manage configuration of Palo Alto NG-Firewall appliances.
- Work with OT teams to ensure the secure operation of OT environments.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience with the Microsoft suite of products, including Microsoft365, Azure and Windows OS.
- Proven experience in security analyst activities, including monitoring and analysis of security events and incident response activities.
- Understanding of networking (such as TCP/IP and firewalls, particularly Palo Alto).
- Understanding of secure architectures, DLP, and Identity and Access Management principals.
- Experience with security tools and technologies (e.g. SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with IT and OT teams.
- Experience working with OT environments is highly desired.
- Experience with DevOps, infrastructure as code and Python highly desired.
- Experience working with compliance frameworks highly desired (e.g. SOCI; AESCSF; NIST; ISO; SOC2; ISM)
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Information Technology; Cybersecurity).
- Optional: Relevant cyber security industry certifications (e.g. CEH, GIAC, Security+).
- Optional: Relevant technology industry certifications (e.g. Networking+; Microsoft Certified).
