Job Description
We now have a great opportunity for a
Pipeline Engineer
to join our Supply Chain business. This role will be based at our head office in Docklands, Melbourne and will be responsible for our network of pipelines for Victoria.

In this role you will support the execution of key Pipeline Major Maintenance, Capital and unplanned Projects, ensuring the projects safely deliver quality outcomes and are executed in accordance with Viva Energy standards, within a cost-effective environment.

Key to this role is the management of third-party contractors on site, liaison with reliability engineering teams and operations and, direct stakeholder management with the Regulator.

Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Provide project management services and delivery of Pipeline Major Maintenance and Capital projects, ensuring projects are executed in accordance with Viva Energy project standards, PDM, sustaining safe, cost effective, quality project delivery.
  • Support compliance with Viva Energy' project control requirements, including change and risk management.
  • Ensure all project deliverables are achieved including the scope, cost and schedule as per Handover document, as well as all quality and date management requirements.
  • Support project leadership so that Project Definition and Implementation phases through to close-out meet requirements of the development strategy and plan.
  • Report on all major project issues/status to Senior Pipeline Engineer / Engineering Manager as required.
  • Foster a positive working relationship with Operations, Reliability & Integrity and project team to ensure key interfaces between operations and projects are effective and that agreed project objectives and quality standards are met or bettered.
  • External key stakeholder management and liaison with third parties.

EHS Accountabilities

  • Adopting and promoting personal work practices and procedures for all activities performed within allocated projects in accordance with Viva Energy Environment, Health and Safety Management System (EHSMS) standards and legislative requirements.
  • Demonstrating commitment to continuous improvement in EHS performance to Viva Energy personnel and contractors on EHS issues.
  • Ensure Environment, Health and Safety performance targets are met during the management of projects.
  • Manage EHS risks, promote hazard awareness and pro-active reporting.
  • Achieve safety KPIs including improvement initiatives through visible leadership and personal commitment.
  • Actively support Viva Energy's commitment to Environment, Health and Safety.

Qualifications
About you

  • To be successful you will be a Qualified Engineer with ideally 8+ years of experience in the hydrocarbon industry, leading small to medium sized project works (up to $7m projects).
  • Eligible for Member of the Institute of Engineers Australia or equivalent.
  • Direct stakeholder management with the Regulator is required.
  • Oil and Gas and/or Downstream Pipeline experience and/or Terminal piping is required.
  • Knowledge of pipeline corrosion assessment, ILI, AS2885 and ASME B31G.
  • Knowledge of pipeline cathodic protection system and regulatory requirements.
