The Trainee Project Officer / Estimator has a key role in the procurement and delivery of Demolition construction projects for our customers.
The key objectives and performance measures for the position are sustained profitability, retained customers, accurate project filing, timely procurement, and timely completion of tasks are directed.
Therefore, you are responsible for ensuring that all cost estimates submitted when tendering are accurate, all projects are managed in accordance with the client's specifications and within De-Construct's budget, all tasks are carried out according to WHSE regulations, and all employees are treated in a fair and equitable manner.
The Dimensions
This position is located at our Richmond office, with multiple project sites in Urban and Rural Areas.
The Environment
The local environment consists of two divisions of De-Construct; Asbestos and Demolition and this position description is specific to the Demolition Division. The team is comprised of site-based Supervisors, Project Managers, Estimators, Operations Manager, Machine Operators and Labourers.
Reporting Relationships
The Trainee Demo Division Project Office / Estimator reports to the Demolition General Manager on project-specific areas. You will work closely with other Demolition team members on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.
Primary Responsibilities
This includes drawing take off's and assisting PM's and estimators with submissions.

Specific Tasks
Selling and Marketing
You share the marketing role with each and every employee of De-Construct. You will promote the company's services and values in a positive light at all times and to everyone you meet.
Tendering
You are required to check the cost estimates of other Demolition Estimators before they are submitted by De-Construct and you will be involved in providing cost estimates on special projects (packages).
Contract Administration
Your team's administration is to be timely, thorough, and comprehensive to the extent that anyone can easily find information within the project files and/or reassign the administration of the project where necessary. The key tasks of your administration role include:
New job Files.
Project budget and job sheet - These are to be prepared at contract award/tender acceptance and prior to the placement of any orders to subcontractors or suppliers.
