About Us:

United Energy Contractors are a contracting company with a combined 12 years of experience within the metering industry, that are now calling all electrical contractors that want to be involved in future Smart Metering works. Our client is a specialist Electrical & Telecommunications company that provides an array of professional services to a number of large Australian and New Zealand companies. They call upon the skills and experience of their hand selected teams on large scale national Electrical & Telecommunications projects. They have recently won large projects in the Smart Metering space across NSW, QLD, SA and WA.

The Role:

United Energy Contractors is seeking to build on its metering team by engaging with A Grade Electricians on a major, long term metering contract across WA. As a meter technician at UEC your day to day will entail attending residential/commercial properties to safely upgrade their electricity meters to smart meters on behalf of Western Power network. Your jobs will be pre-scheduled for you based on a house to house workflow to minimize travel time in-between jobs and maximize efficiency. This is a role where efficiency is rewarded and safety is paramount.

What you'll do:

  • Investigate and rectify meter communications faults
  • Installation and exchange electricity meters
  • Investigation of meter faults
  • Comply with health & safety procedures to promote a safe work environment
  • Manage tools, stock, and equipment to standard

What you need:

  • Pty Ltd Company Setup + GST Registration
  • Public Liability ($20M minimum)
  • Workers Compensation
  • A-Grade Electrical Contractors License
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Construction Industry Safety Induction Card (White Card)
  • Western Power - Service Commission Testing (SCT) and MMM training course Meter Commissioning. (4 days in total and we can assist with enrolment)
  • Western Power- Fetch Inductions (Green Card, Life Support and Operational Induction)
  • Current First Aid certificate
  • Current Working With Children/Vulnerable People Check
  • Eligibility to work in Australia
  • National Police Check
  • Asbestos Awareness Certificate
  • Own tools of trade and suitable vehicle
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
