We're looking for a Library Coordinator who brings people together, sparks collaboration and enthusiasm, and helps their team do their best work. You'll lead a dynamic, growth-minded team that thrives on learning, creativity, and continuous improvement and you'll play a key role in enabling their success.

About the Role
As Library Coordinator, you'll be both hands-on and people-focused, ensuring daily operations run seamlessly while fostering an environment where ideas thrive and individuals grow. You lead by listening, guiding your team with empathy, clarity, and collaboration, helping them build on their strengths to form a resilient, united, and continually evolving team.
As a part of the library's leadership team, the Library Coordinator is integral to Geelong Regional Library's future planning initiatives, especially regarding the specific requirements of the local community.
What You'll Bring
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience guiding and inspiring a large and diverse team.
- Proven ability to manage operations effectively, from budgeting and resource allocation to maintaining welcoming, functional spaces.
- A creative and forward-thinking approach to program and service design, with a passion for meeting the evolving needs of the community.
- Commitment to fostering an environment that is welcoming, inclusive, and empowering for customers of all ages and backgrounds.
- Strong collaboration skills, able to build meaningful partnerships with schools, community organisations, and other stakeholders to champion literacy and lifelong learning.
- Comfort and confidence using digital tools and emerging technologies to enhance access, engagement, and efficiency.
- Enthusiasm for community engagement and advocacy, with the ability to promote the library as a vibrant hub of learning, creativity, and connection.
- An understanding of collection development and curation, ensuring resources remain relevant, inclusive, and engaging.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree or graduate diploma in a relevant field.
- Previous experience working in a public library setting, with demonstrated leadership and managerial skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for serving the needs of diverse communities.
- Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in library management systems, digital technologies, and information literacy principles is desirable.
- Flexibility and adaptability to embrace change and contribute to the growth and development of the library.
