The Role

MSF Sugar is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Console Process Operator to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. This opportunity is located at our Tableland Mill, which is approximately 25km west of Mareeba on the Atherton Tablelands.

In this role, you will assist and support the Console Process Operator to oversee the operation of our highly automated central control room, working on a 4 on, 4 off roster.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor the Fixed Plant (Boiler and Factory Processes) via the central control room
  • Respond to plant alarms and operational changes to maintain efficiency and safety
  • Conduct routine inspections, reporting, and record keeping
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards
  • Support and mentor team members in developing their skills

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing plant or console operation (desirable)
  • Advanced Boiler and Turbine Ticket (highly regarded) however will be provided though RTO
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Willingness to learn – training will be provided

The power station uses a 100% renewable sugarcane fibre known as bagasse to produce 24 megawatts of electricity – which, after commissioning, will be enough to power every house in the Tablelands region.
