We have a part-time opportunity to join us as a Payroll Coordinator, in our friendly and supportive HR & People team.
- A part-time opportunity has become available following an internal promotion. The role combines operational payroll responsibilities (with training provided) and analytical work.
- You'll take ownership for your own small portfolio of work, with responsibility for a small pay run as well as gaining exposure and experience across superannuation, superannuation legislation and payroll tax
- We can offer flexible working – ideally three working days, 0.6 with up to 1-day WFH.
About the opportunity:
Our Payroll team play a pivotal and critical role by ensuring our employees are paid accurately, timely, and according to current pay practices and legislation.
You'll maintain accurate records of all payroll transactions and provide support to employees regarding any payroll-related queries as well as offering ad hoc support to our Head of Payroll & Senior Payroll Specialist.
You will be mentored by an experienced Head of Payroll.
There is opportunity to gain exposure to our finance team and processes including general ledger preparation, month end reconciliation.
We offer learning and development through various online training and short courses to help you grow.
You'll also support with:
- Maintaining and processing end to end payroll.
- Validate payroll data in our payroll and HR systems.
- Maintain and develop relationships with internal departments such as Finance, IT and HR.
- Responding to payroll enquiries both via email and phone.
The Team
The HR team comprises, Reward, Payroll, HR Business Partnering, Talent Acquisition, L&D, HR Systems & Reporting and Operations.
Payroll is a small but perfectly formed team of three comprising of a Head of Payroll, a Senior Payroll Specialist and a Payroll Coordinator position. The team are close knit and work collaboratively together and are highly valued by the business.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Intermediate skills on Microsoft Excel including using VLOOKUP's and pivot tables.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills – ability to convey information clearly, accurately, and effectively with a customer service focus.
- Highly advantageous if you have experience of using Workday and/or Chris21.
- As applicable to the role, a working knowledge of the corporate regulatory environment, governance principles, corporate accountability and conduct frameworks and the process for managing risk. (Nice to have)
