Collections Officer

Aeralife is seeking a dedicated Collections Officer to join our expanding team. If you have experience in debt collection and are eager to be part of a growing organisation in the aged care sector, this role is perfect for you

Position Details:

Role Overview: Reporting to the Business Finance Partner, the Collections Officer will engage with consumers, families, and third-party payers. Your enthusiasm, strong administrative skills, excellent customer service, and collaborative spirit will be key to your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contact debtors to collect overdue payments following established procedures

  • Negotiate outstanding accounts respectfully and build rapport with debtors

  • Accurately record and update all debt collection activities

  • Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders

  • Work with government agencies such as Services Australia, Centrelink, State Trustees, and Guardianships to manage and collect outstanding debts

  • Provide regular updates to the Finance Business Partner and CFO on the status of outstanding debts, escalating problematic accounts as needed

  • Manage time effectively in a busy, high-pressure, and dynamic environment

About You:

Essential:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a collections officer role, with aged care experience highly regarded

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills

  • Outstanding organisational skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritise, and manage time efficiently

  • Deep understanding of the role of a Collections Officer within a business

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and ERP systems, including data manipulation in Excel

  • Ability to work autonomously, solve problems, be a self-starter, and function well as part of a team

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

Desirable:

  • Experience in the aged care sector is desirable but not essential

  • Familiarity with the Epicor Software Billing system is a plus
