Position: AEM Technical Business Analyst

Location: Sydney

Detailed Job Description

The Technical Business Analyst (TBA) will:

  • Collaborate with business owners, product managers, architects, and design teams to translate business requirements into modular, reusable, and technically sound AEM components.
  • Participate in discovery sessions to identify patterns, dependencies, and integration touchpoints across Adobe Experience Cloud solutions (AEM, Analytics, Target, Campaign, etc.).

  • Define, document, and prioritize backlog items (epics, user stories, acceptance criteria) aligned to digital roadmap objectives.

  • Evaluate feasibility and scalability of UI elements and EDS components before development, ensuring adherence to design governance.

  • Support sprint ceremonies (planning, grooming, retrospectives) by providing domain and system context to development teams.
  • Serve as a gatekeeper for quality by validating deliverables against defined acceptance criteria and ensuring traceability to business value.
  • Enable data-driven decision-making by ensuring requirements include analytics and measurement considerations from the start.
  • Act as a liaison between cross-functional teams to mitigate delivery risks, ensure alignment on dependencies, and maintain delivery velocity.

Must Have Skills:

Component Reusability Analysis:

  • Identify and document reusability of blocks within sections, ensuring standardization and reducing duplication across digital experiences.

Requirement Elicitation & Documentation:

  • Translate business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements within AEM/EDS templates.

Block and Template Design Governance:

  • Identify the volume and usage pattern of blocks, sections, and templates across digital assets.

User Story Creation & Acceptance Criteria Definition:

  • Craft detailed user stories and acceptance criteria for each deliverable in alignment with Agile best practices.

Validation & Quality Alignment:

  • Partner with Product Owners and UX/UI teams to validate functional intent and technical feasibility.

UI Feasibility Assessment:

  • Identify if any UI outputs are difficult to achieve using EDS components, flag risks early, and propose feasible workarounds.

Cross-Stream Collaboration:

  • Work with experience and engineering teams to ensure awareness of potential rework areas and design dependencies.

Nice to Have Skills:

Functional + Technical Understanding of AEM, AA (Adobe Analytics), AAM (Adobe Audience Manager), ACS (Adobe Campaign Standard), and EDS.

Business Process Engineering:

  • Ability to map end-to-end digital journeys and optimize workflow touchpoints.

Cross-Functional Communication:

  • Proven track record in facilitating dialogue between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Agile Project Delivery Exposure:

  • Experience supporting multiple Scrum teams in an Agile delivery model.

UI/UX Sensitivity:

  • Appreciation for design systems, accessibility, and content modularization principles.
