Ingleburn High School is a co-educational comprehensive high school in South Western Sydney which services the needs and aspirations of a diverse and growing multi-cultural urban population. The school enrollment is currently at 812, including 81 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and 45% of the school population being from a Non English speaking background. The school has a support unit of 7 classes (one for students with moderate intellectual disabilities, two Multi-categorical and four for students with autism). The school is committed to continually improving effective classroom practices with staff professional learning being the key to ensuring this. This learning will ensure that both literacy and numeracy levels can be enhanced through improved data analysis and use to support student learning. Ingleburn High School aims to provide broad-based educational experiences that are both relevant and challenging in collaborative classrooms. Students are always encouraged to take responsibility for their own academic and social and emotional learning, extending their own abilities and interests so that they can reach their potential and make valuable contributions toward Australian society. Selection CriteriaApplicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Demonstrated expertise in adapting and implementing the NSW curriculum to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
- Proven ability to coordinate Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and collaborate effectively with families, allied health professionals, and external agencies to improve the outcomes of students in a special education setting
- Commitment to Professional Development with experience in facilitating professional development opportunities for teaching and support staff.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate and improve leadership and teaching practices with a commitment to leading the Strategic Excellence Plan at Ingleburn High School.
Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
