Yarrabah is an indigenous community located 51 km from Cairns with a population of 2550 and a median age of 22yrs old. Yarrabah Emergency Service provides 24 hours emergency and accident care only, however, to assist cultural requirements palliation of patients and returning for care often occurs.Presentations are varied and will give you opportunity to utilise your emergency skills.  The department is linked in with telehealth Retrieval Services and has onsite point of care testing and an experienced nursing team. Like much of Tropical North Queensland, the region offers a relaxed, outdoor lifestyle in a beautiful green environment.

Purpose of the Role

Working at the Yarrabah Emergency Service within rural health services across the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service, you will contribute as a dynamic Senior Medical Officer, providing high quality clinical care to patients and superior leadership to our team.

Your Opportunity

As the Senior Medical Officer you will provide a high standard of care for patients and their families, contributing to improving the health of the local population.

Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) evidence as required for your employment in accordance with legislation/government policy and Directives.
