Hall Chadwick is one of Australia's leading mid-tier chartered accounting firms providing professional services in the areas of Insolvency, Audit, Business Services Advisory, Tax and Forensic Accounting.

We are currently seeking a Forensic Accountant with strong data analytics and forensic technology capabilities to join our growing Brisbane team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with the partner-in-charge and a collaborative team on a diverse range of forensic and valuation assignments.  This role will be working with peers as well as directly with the partner-in-charge. You will contribute to the design, implementation and execution of the valuation and forensic assignments, including analysis of the information provided, undertaking investigations and discovery projects, financial modelling and the documenting of our findings into a report compliant with the relevant Court guidelines. You will have the ability to demonstrate initiative and sound judgement to ensure the smooth running of the assignments in line with the time and budgetary requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct forensic accounting and valuation assignments across a range of dispute and litigation matters.
  • Apply data analytics to support investigations, financial modelling, and damage quantification.
  • Extract, clean, and analyse large datasets from various sources (e.g., accounting systems, databases).
  • Develop dashboards and visualisations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, R Shiny or similar to present findings clearly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality, timely reports.
  • Support investigations and discovery projects for the Insolvency division.
  • Contribute to expert testimony preparation and court proceedings.

Our assignments include:

  • Valuations for disputes (e.g., contractual fallouts, shareholder disputes, family law, compulsory acquisitions).
  • Quantification of damages (e.g., commercial and insurance litigation, institutional abuse matters, class actions).
  • Investigations into fraud and systemic issues.
  • Complex financial modelling and scenario analysis.
  • Financial investigations.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • CA / CPA qualified or working towards qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in public practice, ideally in forensic accounting, valuations, audit, or data analytics.
  • Strong technical skills in Excel, and experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python or R is highly desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments.
  • A genuine interest in forensic accounting and leveraging technology to uncover insights.
