About the engagement:

The Linux Engineer will performs duties to produce quality deliverables associated with systems administration. Specifically, this position is responsible for building, maintaining and troubleshooting secure computer environments using automation tools to quickly provision customer environments to global standards. Those responsibilities are generally associated with multiple function tasks of medium to large / high size, scope and complexity.

Responsibilities:-

  • Administer and maintain the Linux, backup and storage environments in accordance with written policy and procedure
  • Installing, configuring, upgrading and maintaining, operating systems and services along with provision troubleshooting in Linux and VMWare environments
  • Supporting the installation, configuration and upgrade of software tools including virtualization and application discovery tool-sets
  • Setting up administrator and user accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space
  • Providing technical solutions on a wide range of complex IT related problems, and independently determine and develop approaches to solutions
  • Maintain, monitor and enhance the Linux server infrastructure, including storage utilization, security permissions, patch remediation, performance monitoring, backups and recovery, service packs and operating system upgrades
  • Perform capacity planning, forecasting and workload modelling to ensure the Linux server infrastructure

To be successful in this role:-

  • Expert knowledge of unix operating systems (Redhat/CentOS, Ubuntu, Solaris)
  • In depth understanding and experience in the design, implementation and sustainment requirements for Information Technology systems in general and Linux platforms in particular (e.g. RedHat / CentOS Linux, DNS, directory services, mail servers, web servers, etc.)
  • Linux administration, LDAP, Ansible Automation - AAP
  • Must be able to demonstrate advanced troubleshooting experience. experience in managing Red Hat (RHEL 5 & 6)
  • Expert technical capabilities in UNIX and Linux systems, preferably in Red Hat platform solutions including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Red Hat Satellite
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) qualification and/or industry experience
