Programmed have an exciting opportunity for
2 Mechanical Engineering Diesel Fitter Apprentices
in the Roma region.

• 1x Full-time Apprenticeship
• 1X School-Based Apprenticeship

We are seeking applicants that have a passion for mechanics, enjoys hands on work and has a 'Can Do' attitude with a willingness to learn. Throughout the apprenticeship you will be hosted with a major Civil Construction company, RoadTek whom provide excellent mentoring, training and encourages team work and innovation within their business. RoadTek provides transport infrastructure solutions throughout Queensland as a commercial business within the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR). The partnership between Programmed and RoadTek will see you succeed by offering ongoing support and mentoring from trade qualified personnel that will assist in your career pathway in the Mechanical Engineering industry.

Duties And Benefits Within This Apprenticeship May Include

• Inspect, service and repair plant machinery/equipment
• Diagnostic/repair braking & steering systems,
• Inspect, service, repair - diagnostic cooling systems, emissions systems and air-conditioning systems
• Properly maintain material tools and equipment
• Assist in carrying out light fabrication work
• Use of hand and power tools
• Assist in cleaning and keeping the workshops and surrounds tidy
• Assist with maintaining daily records of plant, Labor and materials used
• Fulltime contract with Annual Leave, Sick Leave and Public Holiday pay
• Potential career in the industry

Mandatory Requirements

• Passion and interest in mechanics
• Construction White Card (can be completed online before commencing - it's a short safety course)
• Motivated and willing to learn
• Reliable and have a positive attitude
• Drivers Licence and reliable transport
• Must be flexible and available to work both day and night shift if required
• Competent numeracy & literacy skills
• Completed Year 10 High School Certificate
• Able to undertake TAFE studies and complete at a satisfactory level, within a timely manner
• Comply with safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment and to ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety Legislation

TAFE Studies
TAFE will be in completed in blocks at TAFE QLD and commitment is of the utmost importance for progression in this apprenticeship.

Location:
Whilst the Apprenticeship is based in a Roma workshop, you will be required to work anywhere in the other regions across QLD to gain the full trade experience during your apprenticeship. This may include working away on projects if the business requires so you must be flexible to the requirements of the role. Applicants must live in the Roma region.

Prior to offer of employment the successful applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical examination 'fit for work' (including passing a drug and alcohol screen)
