Telecommunications Rigger

The Telecommunications Rigger is responsible for the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and upgrade of telecommunications equipment on towers, rooftops, and other structures. This role ensures that all rigging activities are performed in compliance with safety regulations and project specifications, supporting the successful delivery of mobile and fixed-line network infrastructure.

· Installation and Maintenance

· Install antennas, feeders, mounts, and associated hardware on towers and rooftops.

· Perform maintenance and upgrades on existing telecommunications infrastructure.

· Safety and Compliance

· Adhere to all WHS regulations and company safety procedures.

· Conduct risk assessments and use appropriate PPE and fall protection systems.

· Testing and Reporting

· Conduct cable testing, antenna alignment, and equipment verification.

· Complete job documentation, including rigging plans, checklists, and reports.

· Team Collaboration

· Work closely with project managers, engineers, and construction teams/manager.

· Participate in toolbox talks and contribute to a positive team culture.

· Assist in equipment logistics and site preparation.

· Support emergency response and fault rectification activities.

· Participate in training and upskilling programs.

· Strong commitment to safety and compliance.

· High level of physical fitness and comfort working at heights.

· Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.

· Proficiency in rigging techniques and use of climbing equipment.

· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and rigging plans.

· Familiarity with telecommunications systems and components.

· Working at Heights certification (mandatory).

· Dogging and Rigging High Risk Work License (mandatory).

· White Card (Construction Induction).

· First Aid and CPR certification.

· Valid Australian Driver's License.

· RF EME Awareness.

· Police Check dated within the last 6 months.

· Minimum 5 years' experience in telecommunications rigging or similar field.

· Experience working on towers, rooftops, and elevated structures.

· Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, winches and rigging equipment.

· Integrity and professionalism.

· Resilience and adaptability in challenging environments.

· Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.

· Working in physically demanding and high-risk environments.

· Managing weather-related delays and site access issues.

· Maintaining high safety standards while meeting project deadlines.

- Safety helmet with chin strap

- High-visibility clothing

- Safety harness and fall arrest systems

- Protective gloves and eyewear

- Climbing equipment and lanyards

- Hand tools and power tools specific to rigging tasks

- Two-way radios and communication devices

- Company-branded workwear and steel-capped boots
