Job Description:

The Live Run Coordinator plays a key role in translating NCIG's rail and vessel logistics plans into a clear, executable 24-hour operational plan for the site operations team. Sitting at the centre of real-time logistics, this role ensures that operational decisions strike the right balance between meeting customer commitments and maximising NCIG's throughput. Acting as a key liaison across internal and external stakeholders, the Live Run Coordinator helps maintain the flow of coal through the terminal while keeping customers informed and operations aligned.

The role requires proactive problem-solving, timely escalation of issues, and strong communication with customers, partners, and internal teams. It also includes after-hours logistics support and leadership coverage for operations crews as required, making it a vital link in ensuring continuous, reliable operations at NCIG.

NCIG is a 24-hour operation, and this role operates on a continuous 7-day, shift roster.

Key Accountabilities Include:

  • Translate the vessel stem, rail plan, and customer quality requirements into an executable 24/48-hour operational plan.

  • Coordinate inbound, stockyard, and outbound activities to maximise throughput while balancing fairness, customer outcomes and plant efficiency

  • Work collaboratively with the Hunter Valley Coal Chain Coordination Live Run Integration Team (LRIT), to ensure coordinated planning and execution through participation in live run forums.

  • Manage and communicate operational adjustments in response to disruptions across rail, stockyard, and harbour.

  • Act as a primary point of contact for real-time decision-making, escalation, and stakeholder communication.

  • Support the operations team with timely, clear, and accurate information to support frontline execution.

  • Provide leadership to operational crews as required ensuring safe and effective task allocation, statutory compliance, and operational continuity.

  • Proven ability to manage shifting priorities, deliver time-critical outcomes, and maintain operational continuity in complex or high-pressure settings.

  • Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills to identify issues, develop solutions and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence effectively and foster collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • Technically strong with digital tools, monitoring systems and reporting.

  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and adherence to relevant operating procedures and compliance frameworks.

  • Relevant industry experience, particularly in maintenance, operations, or similar environments would be highly desirable but not essential.
