About the Role
The Witness Assistance Service (WAS) is a specialist unit within the ODPP which works as part of the prosecution team to assist and support victims of crime and vulnerable witnesses through the criminal justice process to ensure the delivery of an effective and efficient prosecution service.
The WAS Manager works closely with the WAS Director and oversees the operational management of a designated portfolio, with a focus on providing quality professional assistance that is culturally appropriate and meets the needs of vulnerable victims and witnesses of crime and/or their families who are involved in serious matters prosecuted by the ODPP.
As a WAS Manager you will lead and support WAS Team Managers and Officers within your designated portfolio through clinical supervision, mentoring, training and maintaining strong relationships to ensure that service delivery is maintained to a high standard and staff performance is managed, in line with the Office's strategic plan to provide a more trauma informed prosecution service.
The two newly created roles will oversee either Metro and Specialist teams (including Sydney, Parramatta, Penrith, Campbelltown, First Nations and Intake) or Regional teams (including Lismore, Newcastle, Gosford, Wollongong, Dubbo and Wagga Wagga).
About you (Essential Requirements):
- This is a child-related position. Applicants must provide a valid Working With Children Check number or an Application number. A current Working with Children Check (WWCC) Clearance is required as a condition of employment. - Degree qualifications in Social Work
- Competitive candidates will have experience in counselling or case management in trauma related areas such as child sexual assault, adult sexual assault, domestic violence and/or grief and loss.
- This position also requires the successful applicant to have a current driver's license and requires travel to regional areas across NSW.

Q1. Describe your experience in providing case management and/or counselling services to people who have been affected by trauma in one or more areas of child sexual assault, adult sexual assault, domestic violence and/or grief and loss.
Q2. Provide two examples of your work as a Manager within a multidisciplinary team where you had to lead and influence changes for efficiency. Outline the strategies you had used.
