The Jabalbina Yalanji Aboriginal Corporation (Jabalbina) administers native title rights, Aboriginal freehold land and Indigenous Land Use Agreements on behalf of the Eastern Kuku Yalanji People.
We are seeking to recruit a Ranger Team Coordinator to support and develop our Ranger Teams.
Your new Role:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing, supporting, and developing Ranger teams in either the northern or southern section of Eastern Kuku Yalanji Country. This role provides direct oversight of staff performance, timesheet and workforce management, and ensures that day-to-day operations align with approved work plans, contract deliverables, and cultural protocols.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate assigned Ranger teams and team leaders, providing clear daily direction, mentoring, and hands-on support in the field.
- Ensure Rangers are properly resourced (Monitoring and maintaining facilities, systems, equipment, vehicles and PPE).
- Ensure correct processes and systems are in place to maintain a safe working environment.
- Schedule and monitor attendance for team workshops, training, and development activities to strengthen skills and capacity.
- Provide consistent feedback and coaching to team members to build skills, capability, encourage a positive safety culture and promote continuous improvement.
- Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, Traditional Owners, and community partners.

Essential requirements:
- Qualifications in Conservation & Ecosystem Management or equivalent experience.
- Open Driver's license
- Blue Card (working with children check)
- Demonstrated skills in project planning, reporting, and staff supervision.
- Strong operational knowledge of culture and traditional land and sea management
- Strong operational knowledge of culture and traditional land and sea management demonstrated through formal qualification, work experience, cultural background, or any combination thereof
- Proven ability to communicate tactfully and effectively
- Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander heritage is required for this position
