THE RIGHT PERSON
We are looking for a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager (BDM) who understands the importance of safety, quality, and compliance across multiple industries. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset, the ability to communicate complex compliance needs to clients, and a passion for driving business growth. Be a strong communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Have a proven track record of success in business development, ideally within the WHS, ISO certification, or compliance services sectors.
Be able to identify and understand the unique safety, compliance, and management system needs of businesses across industries, including construction, healthcare, manufacturing, and HR.
Possess in-depth knowledge of ISO and Australian Standards, risk assessments, and workplace safety frameworks, enabling you to offer tailored solutions that address specific client needs.
Have a consultative approach to building relationships, with the ability to guide clients through the complex processes of WHS, management systems, and compliance.
Be self-motivated, with strong organisational and time management skills.

THE ROLE
As a Business Development Manager, you will drive WLSS's market growth by delivering tailored WHS, ISO, HR, and compliance solutions. Key responsibilities include:
Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, targeting sectors that require WHS compliance, ISO certification, HR solutions, and safety management systems, including software.
Building and leveraging strategic relationships with key decision-makers to uncover client needs and close deals with customised compliance and safety solutions.
Executing a consultative sales approach, positioning WLSS as the go-to provider for overcoming safety and compliance challenges through tailored management systems, risk assessments, and compliance services.
Staying ahead of industry trends and regulatory changes, using this knowledge to offer competitive, up-to-date solutions that give clients an edge.
Consistently exceeding sales targets, using strategic proposals and high-value safety, HR, and compliance solutions to drive revenue growth and enhance client satisfaction.
As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for managing and expanding relationships with clients across South Australia.

THE ESSENTIALS
The ideal candidate will have:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or sales. preferably related to WHS, ISO certification, or compliance consultancy.
A deep understanding of WHS frameworks, ISO standards, and compliance requirements across industries.
Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and building long-term client relationships.
Innovative in identifying leads and developing new business opportunities.
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage senior executives and stakeholders.
A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events
To excel in this role, the following qualifications are preferred:
Sales and Marketing Qualifications or experience
Proven track record in marketing / business development and sales growth
National Police Clearance
THE DESIRABLES
Highly desirable skills include:
Qualifications in Work Health and Safety (WHS) or similar, as well as solid knowledge of quality management systems
Relevant Tertiary Degree (A degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing would be advantageous)
Experience in selling safety software and compliance solutions
Knowledge of safety training, risk assessments, and emergency management processes
Familiarity with CRM systems and sales tracking tools
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
