About the Role

As the Aquatic Operations Team Leader, you will:

  • Lead daily aquatic operations across all pools, spa, and sauna facilities, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant service delivery.
  • Manage the transition from construction to full operations, overseeing readiness, compliance, and successful reopening of the redeveloped aquatic facilities.
  • Supervise and support staff, including lifeguards and duty managers, fostering a strong safety culture and high-performance team environment.
  • Ensure water quality, plant maintenance, and risk management meet all legislative, WHS, and industry standards.
  • Drive customer experience and community outcomes by delivering a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment that promotes health and wellbeing.

What You'll Bring:

  • Proven experience in managing the operations of aquatic facilities, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, support, and develop a diverse team of casual and shift-based staff in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, standards, and regulatory frameworks, including GSPO, the Swimming Pools Act, WHS, and child safety requirements.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusion, community engagement, and continuous improvement in the provision of leisure and recreation services.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving ability, with a proven capacity to interpret data and insights to inform decision-making and drive operational innovation.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of the complexity of local government, including social, political and regulatory frameworks.
  • Familiarity with aquatic education development, accreditation and administration.
