DEED is responsible for securing the State's energy and economic future, driving innovation and long-term prosperity for all. This includes:

About the Role
Tenure: We have the following positions available for immediate filling;
- 1 x Fixed term full-time until 31 December 2026 with possibility of extension and/or permanency,
- 1 x Fixed term full-time until 30 April 2026 with possibility of extension and/or permanency
Strategy, Performance and International Engagement is at the forefront of driving Western Australia's growth and global presence. We provide strategic policy advice on state development issues, support a network of international offices to showcase WA's industries, and encourage strategic investment and trade opportunities. We are seeking a dynamic leader to join our Branch Leadership team and help shape the future of our state.
In this role, you will lead the design and delivery of priority sector advice, contribute to strategies and projects that influence departmental and government-wide initiatives, and drive business planning and performance. You will mentor and coach team members, foster innovation through high-level research and analysis, and provide market and sector insights to stakeholders across government, industry, and the community. Representing the Department on state and federal committees, you will build strong relationships, collaborate widely, and ensure WA's interests are well represented in national and international policy settings.
We are looking for candidates with considerable experience in public policy, economics, industry development, or strategic planning. You will bring strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to research, write and present influential reports, and a proven track record of building effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
