Your role
The Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO) is seeking a Senior Project Officer to lead and deliver complex projects and innovative policy initiatives that improve housing outcomes for Aboriginal individuals, families, and communities
What you'll do
  • Design and manage complex, multi-faceted projects from initiation to delivery, ensuring they meet scope, time and budget requirements.
  • Research and develop evidence-based policies and contribute to strategic planning and service design.
  • Prepare high-quality briefing notes, reports, budgets and discussion papers for executives and government stakeholders.
  • Support the initiation and rollout of new programs and services that improve outcomes for Aboriginal communities.
  • Provide expert advice and collaborate with teams across the department and external partners to ensure cohesive project delivery.
  • Act as a key point of contact for project teams, providing guidance and support to ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes.
What we're looking for
You will have experience in project delivery and policy development, with a commitment to improving services and outcomes for Aboriginal communities. In addition, you will have:
  • Strong research, analysis and policy development skills with a clear, outcomes-focused approach.
  • Advanced writing skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise briefing materials and reports for senior stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting the planning and delivery of new programs or service initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
  • Sound judgement, attention to detail and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
