Expressions of interest are sought from NSW Health staff wishing to apply for an internal opportunity with the Regional Health Division until 10 November 2026. To be eligible to apply for this role, you must be a permanent/ongoing employee or a temporary employee.

This is a secondment opportunity where you are required to have permission from your home agency to be released from your usual duties for the period.

  • Employment type: temporary secondment, Clerk Grade 9/10.
  • 35 hour working week, in a hybrid working environment.
  • Home base 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards.

About this role

This is an exciting opportunity in the Regional Health Division which brings together a dynamic team spanning across NSW. We provide advice to the Minister for Health and Regional Health and the NSW Health Secretary on regional, rural and remote health matters. The Division also advocates for regional health issues and identifies opportunities to enhance access to health and other services that support quality health outcomes.

Crown Clerk 9/10, salary from $129,464 - $142,665 plus Super and annual leave loading

What you'll be doing

The Senior Policy Officer primarily works on the implementation, reporting and engagement for the Regional Health Strategic Plan and Inquiries related to regional, rural and remote health.

In this role you will:

  • Develop and advise on policy and strategy by researching issues, analysing data and evidence, and recommending practical solutions.
  • Engage and collaborate with stakeholders to inform strategy and policy decisions and ensure effective implementation.
  • Support policy delivery through monitoring outcomes, mitigating risks, and preparing clear, high-quality communications.
