Are you an Occupational Therapist early in your career, keen to further your experience within the acute tertiary paediatric hospital setting? About the Role:

This is a Full Time Fixed Term position until 20/9/2026 at 80 hours per fortnight within the Occupational Therapy department.

Working at the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) provides a unique and exciting opportunity to work alongside children and their famlies during pivotal life phases.

You will be responsible for providing occupational therapy assessment and intervention services to inpatient and/or outpatient infants, children and adolescents, to support child development and maximise participation in daily activities and quality

What you'll achieve:

  • Provide assessment and discharge plans in collaboration with patients and their families to maximise participation in everyday activities
  • Make an impact on meaningful outcomes for infants, children and young adults during their individual healthcare journey
  • Champion innovative and outcome focussed intervention practices to foster progress and wellbeing of RCH patients

Classification for this position will range from VE8-VF3 Grade 1, Year 1 - Grade 1 , Year 5 (base salary $67,849 to $82,540 per annum, plus superannuation)

Your skills and experience:

  • Recognised graduate-entry qualification in Occupational Therapy (Bachelor, Masters or Doctorate)
  • Current registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Previous clinical experience working within acute care or a hospital environment
  • Clinical experience working with children
  • Have confidence in educating patients/parents/discipline staff/ multidisciplinary team and members of the wider community to minimise risk and promote successful outcomes for patient care
  • Demonstrated ability to work under supervision, improving performance through supervisor feedback and reflective practice.

About Occupational Therapy:

The Occupational Therapy department is within Ambulatory Service. We provide inpatient and outpatient services for infants, children, adolescents with a wide range of medical conditions. Our team works closely with families, carers, community services and other health care professionals to ensure the best occupational therapy outcomes for our patients.
