About The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH MHS):

The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) Mental Health Services provide compassionate, recovery-oriented care across community, inpatient, and specialist settings. Our multidisciplinary teams support people of all ages experiencing mental illness or psychological distress, working in partnership with consumers, families, and carers to promote wellbeing, recovery, and independence.

We have an exciting opportunity for two newly graduated Occupational Therapists (with less than two years of experience) to join our team as part of the RMH Allied Health Graduate Program — the longest-running program of its kind in Victoria, with over twenty years of supporting and developing early career Occupational Therapists.

Commencement must be no later than Tuesday, 27 January 2026.

About the role:

In this role you will:

  • Work with consumers and families impacted by mental illness using a strengths-based, recovery-focused model of care.
  • Be part of a multidisciplinary team and a large, supportive community of mental health Occupational Therapists.
  • Receive regular clinical supervision and participate in monthly, facilitated peer support sessions with fellow graduates.
  • Have a graded and supported introduction to the field of mental health occupational therapy.
  • Contribute to the transformation of Victoria's public mental health system by supporting the implementation of the Royal Commission recommendations.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • A degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognised tertiary institution and registration (or eligibility for registration) with AHPRA.
  • Less than two years of experience as a qualified Occupational Therapist (applications will be considered from those expecting to graduate before January 2026).
  • A genuine interest in and passion for a career in public mental health.
  • A commitment to ongoing learning and development.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and with a range of key stakeholders.
  • A reflective approach to practice and engagement in supervision.
  • A Full drivers licence
