About the role

Marlinyu Ghoorlie Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a skilled and organised Bookkeeper to join our team in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices, and supporting the overall financial operations of our organisation.

What you'll be doing

  • Perform daily bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll processing
  • Organise, process, and manage client receipts and vendor payments
  • Track, monitor, and prepare invoicing with attention to accuracy and timeliness
  • Process and manage supplier payments, ensuring optimal cash flow management
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly
  • Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and other tax returns
  • Maintain and update financial records and databases
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Provide administrative support as required

What we're looking for

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role, preferably in a small to medium-sized organisation
  • Proficient in the use of accounting software (e.g. MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting, and familiarity with cloud-based accounting platforms
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional accuracy in data entry and financial record management
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
  • Knowledge of Australian taxation and reporting requirements
  • Experience with payroll processing

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field
  • Current C Class driver's licence
  • Current Police clearance
