Position Description: Infrastructure Planner/Scheduler

About the Role:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive program of works each year that incorporates all work types based on human, vehicle and financial resource estimates and unit costs.
- Facilitate the planning and scheduling of works across all work elements in the infrastructure department, including operational, maintenance and capital programs.
- Identify and Implement initiatives aimed at improving customer satisfaction by working with the Communications Team to develop communication plans to keep the community informed.
- Identify and implement cross-unit work programs to improve efficiencies and minimising contractor reliance.
- Assist project teams within Infrastructure in reporting of the works programs, including scope, finance and risk.
- Ensure that Programs are developed to meet annual budgets (grant funding and council reserve funding), while also aiming to meet service levels, minimising risk and meeting resource requirement and community expectation.
- Collaborate with Asset management to develop and document Standards of Service that reflect community expectations, resources requirements and financial commitments to deliver agreed service standards.
- Modify timings of controllable work to balance demand & supply and recognise periods of the year where reactive work is likely to be higher.
- Assist Manager with improvements to the department by identifying, developing, implementing and maintaining processes, policies and procedures as required.
- Promote information sharing and knowledge transfer to drive evidence-based decision-making, enhance capability and optimise capacity
- Contribute to the performance of Council: demonstrate professional conduct, make the best use of knowledge, experience and skills
- Contribute to a safe workplace: comply with legislative and organisational requirements and be accountable for own decisions and actions
- And other duties as required
About You:
To be successful in this role you will have:
Certificate IV qualification or above, in finance management and/or data manipulation, or a related discipline, with demonstrated contemporary experience in a similar role; or substantial contemporary experience in a similar role to support contemporary knowledge.
Demonstrated understanding of budgets within Councils finance system.
Demonstrated experience in scheduling and planning across a diverse range of project related and operational activities.
Proven ability to engage collaboratively across multiple departments to deliver comprehensive planning and scheduling data resulting in greater efficiencies across all road infrastructure activities.
Proven ability to develop and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships to achieve outcomes that contribute to the achievement of the organisation's strategic goals
Current Class C drivers licence
