Role And Project Details
Due to continued growth and increasing scope of works, Whittens are actively recruiting for a
HD Fitter
to work on our east coast projects. As a HD Fitter your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Maintenance, service, and repair of plant, equipment, and vehicles to minimise downtime and comply with maintenance and service schedules.
- Conduct routine inspections, fault finding, and testing a variety of diesel-powered and petrol-powered equipment and light vehicles.
- Conduct plant and equipment on hire / off hire inspections and maintain equipment database.
- Complete and maintain accurate service and administrative records.
- Report any major faults or anticipated faults or breakdowns to management.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Relevant qualifications as a HD Fitter or similar trade
- At least five years' experience as a HD Fitter in the construction/ mining industry
- Extensive mechanical repair experience with heavy machinery and mobile plant including Excavators, Franna Cranes, Telehandlers, EWPs, Tip Trucks, LVs, Skid Steers, and Loaders.
- Field service and repair experience
- Ability to work and seek opportunities without continuous direction from supervisor
- Effective time management and attention to detail
- Current Australia Drivers License (HR Class)
- Troubleshooting, diagnostic and preventative maintenance skills
- Must have a positive attitude with a strong safety focus
