Position Overview

The Host is the first point of contact for CU29 guests, creating a welcoming and professional atmosphere from arrival to departure. This role is key in ensuring smooth guest flow, managing reservations, and upholding CU29's high service standards. A successful Host will combine polished communication skills with attention to detail to deliver an exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Reception & Seating

  • Warmly greet guests upon arrival, offering a professional and friendly first impression.
  • Manage the reservation system, including bookings, waitlists, and guest preferences.
  • Escort guests to their tables, presenting menus and introducing their server.
  • Monitor table rotation and ensure seating efficiency to optimize guest experience and service flow.

Customer Service Excellence

  • Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests.
  • Handle guest enquiries and feedback professionally, escalating to management as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of the menu, specials, and promotions to assist guests effectively.

Operational Support

  • Coordinate with the restaurant, bar, and kitchen teams to manage service timing and table readiness.
  • Ensure front-of-house areas, including reception and waiting areas, are clean, organized, and welcoming at all times.
  • Assist with administrative duties such as updating reservations and guest records.

Compliance & Safety

  • Adhere to CU29's service standards, hygiene policies, and safety procedures.
  • Ensure all interactions reflect CU29's brand values and professional image.
  • Report any incidents or guest concerns to the Duty Manager or Restaurant Manager promptly.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years experience as a host, receptionist, or in a customer service role within the hospitality industry (preferred)
  • Familiarity with reservation systems and POS software (advantageous).
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
