About Us:

For over 30 years, Interchange has been supporting West Australians with disabilities to achieve their goals through individualised, community-based support. With the belief that everyone belongs, we ensure our support team is person-centred, helping our customers grow and flourish in their homes and communities.

About the Role:

A Host Arrangement is a living arrangement where a host welcomes a person with disability to live in their home and be part of their lives. Through living in a natural environment and sharing their lives with the host, people with disability experience an enhanced sense of connection and belonging in their community.

Becoming a Host can be suitable for you if you are single, a couple, or a family. You may offer your home for occasional stays, respite or as a full-time residence. Each Host Arrangement is unique according to the person's and host's circumstances.

You will receive a re-imbursement to cover your expenses as well as support from a dedicated Coordinator and access to on call assistance outside office hours.

We are currently seeking volunteer full-time Hosts and Respite Hosts who are willing to open their homes and share their lives with Interchange customers. We have several participants who are excited to be part of host living arrangements in Perth's northern suburbs.

This is a truly life-changing role where you will have the opportunity to positively impact another person's life by providing them with a safe and welcoming home environment.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work within and contribute to the Mission, Vision and Values of Interchange
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • NDIS Orientation Module Certificate
  • Have extensive experience providing care for people with disability, including medication administration, personal care
  • Ability to provide a safe and inclusive home environment (smoke free)
  • Have flexible availability
  • Be willing to allow us to conduct a full risk assessment of your home (whether you own or rent)
  • Have a current driver's license and a reliable car that is fully insured
  • Current First Aid/ CPR Certificate (Essential)
  • Working with Children card for all adults residing in the home if the guest is under the age of 18
