We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate individuals to join our Support Worker (Relief) team.

What you'll do:

As a valued member of the Services team, your primary responsibility will be responding promptly to cover leave and staff shortages to provide essential person-centred support to participants.

What you'll bring to the role:

• We are looking for candidates who possess:
• A genuine passion for supporting individuals with diverse needs
• Ability to quickly respond to requests for shift coverage, demonstrating your commitment to supporting both your colleagues and the participants we support
• Flexible availability to work various shifts across the Perth Metropolitan area, including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays as required. Your adaptability is key to meeting the diverse needs of the role
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with participants and teams
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and teamwork
• Reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance (accessible and appropriate for people with disabilities)
• Commitment to the NDIS Standards and the Safeguarding of children and adults at risk
• Minimum 2 years' experience is desirable but not essential

Selection Criteria:

• Demonstrated ability to support people with disabilities and assist them to achieve their goals. Please provide a summary of your experience and knowledge providing person-centered support for people living with a disability. If you do not have direct experience, please outline your motivation and drivers for wanting to work as a Support Worker (Relief).
• Flexible and able to meet the demands of the role (60 hours per fortnight) including covering shifts at short notice. Please provide examples to demonstrate your flexibility and capacity to meet the demands of the role.
• High level of accountability and responsibility. Describe your approach to teamwork and accountability in a support setting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. Provide evidence and examples from your previous work experience that supports your ability to communicate effectively in the workplace
• Ability to handle challenging situations calmly and effectively. Provide an example from your previous work experience where you successfully managed a crisis or difficult situation.
