About the role

Milli Build is seeking a highly skilled Carpenter/site supervisor. We are a small architectural building company and have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate. You will play a crucial role in the execution of a detailed build from beginning to end. This is an "on the tools" position that would suit a great carpenter with a good understanding of all aspects of building.

What you'll be doing

• Running a small building site, from start to finish. You will have direct access and assistance from the builder.
• Leading and performing the carpentry aspect of the build, making sure details are executed and workflow is efficient
• Liaise with and organize tradespeople, coordinating site activities and resolve any issues that may arise
• Mentoring and training a junior carpenter, sharing your expertise and best practices
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of workflows and processes within the building team

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a qualified carpenter in residential construction. Architectural construction experience is preferred.
• Leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to effectively manage people
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen eye and a passion for executing details
• Experience in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications (this can be developed within the role)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively and coordinate with tradespeople and the builder.
