About the job

As the Senior Cyber Security Analyst, you will play a key role in strengthening SA Water's Cyber Security resilience by assessing, monitoring, auditing and reporting upon cyber security risk across the organisation.

You will be responsible for ensuring alignment with the Cyber Security Program (CSP) as outlined in the South Australian Cyber Security Framework (SACSF), providing expert governance and risk assessment to improve our digital safety posture.

Working as part of our collaborative Cyber & Resilience team, you will conduct risk assessments, contribute to the Cyber Security Capital Plan, and provide specialist advice to guide secure technology solutions and business decisions across the organisation.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced cyber security professional who thrives in complex environments and enjoys applying a governance, risk and compliance lens to improve security outcomes. You balance technical depth with strong communication and influencing skills, helping diverse stakeholders make informed security decisions.

You are proactive, analytical, and forward-thinking, someone who can assess emerging threats, translate risk into actionable controls, and contribute to continuous improvement of our cyber security posture.

Your background may include work across compliance, risk, assurance, or governance, with demonstrated capability in developing frameworks, running assurance programs, and providing security advice aligned to business strategy.

In addition, your responsibilities will include:

Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day.

You will:

  • Lead quality assurance and continuous improvement of cyber security controls across the business.
  • Provide specialist advice for technology risk assessments, solution designs, and change control activities.
  • Undertake cyber security activities against the CSP calendar and report on findings and risks.
  • Contribute to the Cyber Security Capital Plan by identifying opportunities to address technical debt and uplift maturity.
  • Monitor emerging threats and ensure appropriate mitigations are integrated into the cyber environment.
  • Support incident response and reporting in line with corporate cyber security processes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to embed governance and assurance practices across digital systems.

Your success in this role will come from:

  • Degree in a related technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and conceptually.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience influencing people at all levels.
  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining continuous improvement or assurance systems.
  • Knowledge of the South Australian Cyber Security Framework (SACSF) or similar governance models (desirable).
  • Experience leading or governing improvement projects or re-engineering initiatives (desirable).
