Sales Engineer

About the role:

We are seeking a motivated professional with engineering sales experience to handle new and existing sales. Communicating with potential customers along with a well-established portfolio of existing customers. This role requires selecting and selling engineered components and products suited to the customer's needs.

A mechanical engineering background with experience in power transmission and/or industrial automation would be ideal.

Based at our Caringbah facility the role can extend beyond the desk with customer visits required where and when required both local and Australia wide, on demand and regular visits. A company vehicle is available for the right candidate who seeks to get in-front of the customer.

Motion Technologies is an Australian owned company that provides unique and custom electro-mechanical solutions and components to a diverse customer base from medical to mining, defence to automation, including everything in between. This is a dynamic role for that person with a great blend of sales, engineering and communication skills.

We have a full machine shop facility where we carry out all design, manufacture, machining, welding, fabrication, refurbishment and repair services.

Being privately owned, Motion Technologies Pty Limited is not tied to a single manufacturer and source related products world-wide.

A negotiable salary available based on skills and experience, a fully maintained car is on offer to attract higher quality applicants

Primary duties include:

• Quotations and sales originating from a variety of incoming telephone sales, web enquiries, supplier leads, recommendations and marketing.

• Handling of customer enquiries via incoming telephone, email, and on-line communications.

• Converting leads from various sources, customer management, arranging technical documentation and ensuring all technical details are addressed.

• Product selections from within our established and wide range of engineered components, evaluate and select the right equipment for the application. Specifying and selling components based on the customers specific needs.

• Pre and post-sales support, including technical assistance during the sale process, installation and commissioning through to spares and troubleshooting.

• Supplier management and cooperation both locally and international is key to providing our customers with the right product the first time and meeting customer expectations.

Skills and Experience:

• Relevant and several years of sales engineer experience, within the mechanical, power transmission, industry or factory automation environment.

• Qualification and knowledge in engineering (Mechanical preferred), with experience in the mechanical, power transmission or factory automation environment.

• Strong communication skills both verbal and written required to effectively navigate through the entire sales process. Including customer relation skills to enhance and value-add to the sale, whilst maintaining and growing business for both the short and long term.

• Proficient use in computer skills in standard office software including outlook, excel and word.

• Competency in the ability to extract, procure and execute technical, quality and safety documents and procedures

• Ability to manage multiple projects, enquiries and tasks whilst meeting customer expectations

• Strong attention to detail ensuring all aspects of the project or sale are covered

• Ability to learn, both on the job, combined with dedicated training, our unique and unsurpassed blend of mechanical, electrical and electronic engineering equipment.
