About the team:
This role drives ASX's regulatory change management process, oversighting Line 1 Senior Management and their staff to effectively manage compliance with new and changing obligations applicable to their function and ASX.
The Regulatory and Oversight team is responsible for managing the ASX's engagements and interactions with domestic and international regulators. Additionally, the team is responsible for oversighting Line 1 Senior Management and their staff to effectively manage compliance with new and changing obligations applicable to their function and ASX.
What you will be doing:

Lead and drive the uplift or regulatory change management across the ASX, and ensure processes are embedded across the organisation
-
Lead and drive the regulatory change management process across ASX, including:
-
Proactively monitor developments in new and amending obligations applicable to ASX and communicate changes with impacted business units
-
Analyse new or changing requirements and the impacts to ASX operations
-
Draft new and amended obligations, maintain and update the obligations library housed within the Governance Risk and Controls system, and drive Line 1 teams to implement required changes to policies, processes, and controls.

Demonstrate oversight of regulatory change management through reporting for management and relevant executive and board committees.

Support the Regulatory Engagement team, including
-
Drive the Regulatory Engagement planner, and schedule relevant internal preparation meetings with senior stakeholders
-
Oversee regulatory actions and their tracking to completion
-
Update compliance registers with high quality summaries from key regulatory interactions

Review training materials, team policies, and procedures.

What you will bring:
Must have

Tertiary qualifications, preferably legal or a related discipline
-
Ability to read and interpret legislation, and be a subject matter expert across a wide range of regulations

Ability to influence and impact change

Ability to work autonomously and to deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Attention to detail and a desire for quality and accuracy

Enthusiasm, initiative, and a positive, can-do attitude

Strong written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

Familiarity with governance, risk, and compliance systems

Curiosity, with an interest in continuous learning, such as learning about ASX's businesses and staying updated with industry trends
Nice to have:

Previously worked in a law firm, financial institution, regulatory agency, or consultancy

5 years or relevant experience of implementing regulatory change or compliance advisory

Experience of the regulation of financial institutions
