We're looking for a motivated Transport Planner to join our Sydney-based team and contribute to a wide range of high-profile transport projects across Australia and the Asia Pacific. You'll support the delivery of strategic and technical work across roads, public transport, active travel, and precinct planning. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with solid foundations in transport planning who is ready to grow their technical, project, and commercial capabilities in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
The Opportunity
- Contribute to strategic transport planning projects, including precincts, multimodal networks, and infrastructure business cases.
- Analyse transport data and visualise insights using tools like Excel, GIS, SIDRA, Python, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Work within multidisciplinary teams to deliver technical assessments across roads, public transport, and active travel.
- Prepare high-quality reports, presentations, and proposals that clearly communicate technical findings.
- Represent Arup in client meetings and industry events, building experience and visibility across the sector.
At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas.
You will have the opportunity do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.
Is this role right for you?
- 5+ years of experience in transport planning or analysis across cities, corridors, or multimodal projects.
- Strong skills in transport data analysis, GIS, and technical report writing with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
- A growth mindset and commitment to professional development, with a drive to build project management and commercial acumen.
- Familiarity with transport modelling tools (e.g., SIDRA) and data visualisation software (Illustrator, InDesign).
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, geography, or planning, and a passion for sustainable and people-focused transport outcomes.

At Arup, we care about each member's success, so we can grow together.
Guided by our values, we provide an attractive total reward package that recognises the contribution of each of our members to our shared success.
