Carney Cattle Company is on the lookout for a reliable, motivated Farm Hand to support our day-to-day operations across livestock management, property maintenance, and general farm work. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, getting their hands dirty, and being part of a team that takes pride in doing things right.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Assist with daily livestock care – feeding, watering, and health checks
- Help maintain fences, troughs, paddocks, sheds and irrigation
- Support pasture management and feed runs
- Operate and maintain basic farm equipment (under supervision)
- Follow directions from the owner and work to daily plans
- Keep accurate time records via the Workforce app
- Work safely and responsibly in a team setting
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience working on a cattle or mixed farming property (preferred)
- Horseman / Horsewoman – skilled with horses.
- Comfortable handling livestock and using farm tools or machinery
- Physically fit, with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Able to take direction and work both independently and in a team
- Basic understanding of farm safety and willingness to learn
You'll Need:
- A current Driver's Licence (essential)
- Machinery or tractor experience (desirable)
- First Aid Certificate (desirable but not essential)
What to Expect:
- Outdoor, hands-on work in all weather conditions
- 10 designated farm days per month (full-time equivalent)
- Each day starts on-site unless part of a feed run
- Overtime only by prior approval
